Dental Implants

Have missing teeth compromised your appearance, oral health, and quality of life? At Mt. Scott Family Dental,  Dr. Donnelly and Dr. Nomie can help you restore your smile's health and beauty with a solution known as dental implants.

Versatile Care with Dental Implants

With dental implants, you have a permanent solution for replacing a single tooth, multiple teeth, or an entire row of teeth. Many of our patients prefer implants to other options because of their realistic look and their natural feel.

What makes these great results possible? It has everything to do with the way implant-supported restorations are structured. Each of our teeth are supported by a root that goes down into the jaw. When you lose a tooth, you also lose the root holding it in place. A traditional prosthetic will replace your missing teeth, but it won't replace your missing root(s). An implant-supported prosthetic, on the other hand, will.

Implant Placement

In the first phase of care, our Happy Valley team will insert one or more metal implants into your jaw. Other practices often have to refer their patients to a specialist for this, but Dr. Nomie and Dr. Donnelly are able to offer full-service care.

Once your implant(s) is in place, a process known as osseointegration will occur. During this process, your metal implant(s) and your jawbone will fuse together, forming a strong bond that mimics the one between the jaw and a natural root.

Implant Restoration

In the second phase of your treatment, we'll work on attaching your new custom-made prosthetic. Implants are versatile enough to work with crowns, bridges, partials, and full dentures.

Once your replacement teeth have been attached, you can look forward to enjoying renewed health and wellbeing. Not only will you be able to eat your favorite foods again, you'll also be able to speak and smile with confidence.

Would you like to learn more about dental implants? Dr. Nomie or Dr. Donnelly would be happy to complete a full oral exam for you. After your exam, we can discuss whether implants are truly the right solution for you. Call us today to schedule your appointment.
